by Usetree Redaktion

On the 1st of December 2018, UseTree embarks on a new chapter in its young history. Dipl. designer Stefan Häber continues his successful work as managing director and has taken over the company as sole managing partner. The former partners Dipl. computer scientists Manuel Friedrich (former co-manager), Prof. Burkhard Schmitz, Prof. Dr. Manfred Thüring und Prof. Dr. Jochen Prümper have stepped down from the company. The team is grateful to them all, for having accompanied UseTree through the transition from a research project to a company. UseTree GmbH has developed sustainably and looks back over three years of individual services and satisfied customers. Since 2015, UseTree has grown from 4 to 12 team members and continues their work as a well-established brand.

A short company history

02.2013 – 02.2016: UseTree, the Berlin Competence Center for Usability Measures

28th February 2013 – The UseTree project was launched at a festive opening event as part of the “Einfach Intuitiv – Usability für den Mittelstand” funding initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. This marked the beginning of an interdisciplinary research project that focused on raising awareness of usability in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Over the course of the research project, methods were tested and optimized in thirty pilot projects. This was to support companies in the development and acquisition of user-friendly products.

29th February 2016 – Before the end of the project, the UseTree partners had resolved to launch a start-up, in order to accompany the original pilot projects beyond the funding period.

11.2015 – today: UseTree GmbH

1st November 2015 – More long-term and commercial projects with larger companies such as EOS and corporations such as Bosch and STIHL followed, as well as projects with SMEs and start-ups. UseTree expanded its range of services to the UX sector and was methodically strengthened accordingly. Based in the Charlottenburger Innovations Centrum (CHIC), UseTree is one of Berlin’s first UX consulting companies. Today, the team has grown to 12 permanent employees and can build on a reliable network of research institutions, freelancers and software specialists such as Methodpark and whiteduck.
